Vilmart is located in the small village of Rilly la Montagne, in the heart of the vineyards on Montagne de Reims, whose wines are characterised by an extreme elegance, clearness and definition. It is a Recoltant-Manipulant with an annual production up to 100,000 bottles and a philosophy mixing quality and style. The 11-hectare vineyards Premier Cru are grown for 60% with Chardonnay and 40% with Pinot Noir, with vines ranging from 35 to 55 years old.
Born in 1890, the company has been managed by Laurent Champs since 1991, Chef de Cave and last heir of this property, which he inherited from his mother Nicole Vilmart, remembered for her elegance. Following his father's path, Laurent applies his careful attention to the vines, where he also tries to pursue a biological approach.
On top of that, he has started to cut out chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides, in order to improve the natural balance of the microsystem and strengthen its harmonic development. Vilmart is a brand for real Champagne lovers.
